Desert Hot Springs High School

The Future is Bright For our Golden Eagle Graduates!

Desert Hot Springs High School class of 2018!

Desert Hot Springs High School

This street sign was installed in honor of our High School Valedictorian Esmeralda Salazar! Photographed here with family and city officials, her celebration was very well deserved. Achieving class valedictorian is no small feat…. especially when you lead the way with a 4.62 GPA! According to several in attendance at the graduation, her competition was close. It’s reported that the salutatorian (Kimberly Sanchez Briones) completed her High School curriculum with a 4.61 GPA!

Featured Graduate! Joziah Winfrey

Scholar, Leader, Multi-Sport Star…. these are a few of the attributes thrown around campus whenever anyone is asked about “Jo”. Although he is preparing to embark on the next phase of his scholastic journey, I was able to speak with the Cal State San Bernardino commit for a few. He shared with me that although he will be trying out for the basketball team, his focus will be on his academic pursuits (either kinesiology or broadcast communication).

I asked him how DHS High prepared him for the next phase of life and he replied, “I feel DHS helped me set my priorities straight (in order). They filled me with knowledge on what it’s going to be like on the bigger stage and that as long as I have my priorities straight then I’ll do fine.

Congrats graduate!

Featured Graduate!  Esther Baca

Meet Esther Baca! This scholar will be headed to Copper Mountain College and pursuing a career in nursing! I asked her how DHS High prepared her for her next level in life and she replied, “DHSHS made sure I had everything taken care of. They made sure I was ready for the real world. The staff has helped me see things through other perspectives which will be helpful in the future.”

We are so proud of you!
