Mr. Jeff Bowman

JEFF BOWMAN
Some refer to him as the watchdog (based off of years of serving our board at Mission Springs Water), others call him Mr. Bowman, and many simply know him as Jeff. Regardless of which one you use, it can be said that you would be hard pressed to find anyone more passionate about DHS. Additionally , the man is a treasure chest of knowledge and wisdom concerning the one resource that propels DHS above other valley cities; our water.
“When my wife Judy and I were looking to open a boutique hotel we first looked in Palm Springs.  But as we determined that our focus would be “health and wellness” we realized that there are no springs in Palm Springs.  This then brought us to DHS – the home of mineral water.  It took us two years of serious looking to find the building (Kismet Lodge) that would become Living Waters Spa.  We’ve been here for 15 ½ years.”
“Our recognition has been: Called one of the Top 10 clothing optional resorts in the world and named among the Top 25 Small Hotels in the USA four years in a row (2013-2016) by TripAdvisor.com.  We’ve been featured by the New York Times, Washington Post, The Tennis Channel, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Ellen Degeneres / AOL.com and others.   In our 15 years of business we’ve had over 13,000 guests from all 50 states, and every continent of the world!  People from all walks of life and every ethnicity have come to soak in our mineral water pools.  All professions too – from Pastors to Plumbers, from Bakers to Bankers, from Accountants to Zoologists! “

“The water in the Desert Hot Springs aquifer is pristine and pure. Mineral water has been sought out by health enthusiasts the world over.  Europeans have gone to the springs and hot baths since ancient days. Traditionally these waters have been used to treat many physical ailments.  The mineral water found in Desert Hot Springs is odorless and pure and there is nothing like it ANYWHERE.  It can be likened to Evian or other pure mineral water.  Imagine, being immersed in such pure natural water — it is silky smooth!  Be sure to not confuse our mineral water with smelly sulfur springs.”
Our hotelier website, www.VisitDesertHotSprings.comdescribes our water this way:
Have you ever relaxed into a hot bath? Maybe poured in some mineral salts for extra pleasure? Well, that’s a pale imitation of the “real thing.” For centuries, people throughout the world have “taken the waters” by soaking in hot mineral springs. The reason? Well, it feels really, really good. And it’s good for you too. Ever heard of balneology? Probably not. It’s the scientific study of the therapeutic benefits of natural mineral waters. And it’s especially advanced in Europe and Japan, where balneologists have studied the healthful effects of geothermally heated mineral waters for many years. Here are a few things they’ve discovered:
  •  Soaking increases your blood circulation and cell oxygenation. (That’s the rejuvenating effect.)
  •  Soaking stimulates your metabolism. (That’s the revitalizing effect.)
  •  Soaking helps to balance many of your body’s natural systems. (That’s the rebalancing effect.)
  • Soaking can reduce pain and increase mobility. (That’s the feel-good effect.)
WHY DHS?
“Desert Hot Springs = amazing water, amazing views, and REAL people.  We haven’t been all “LAified” like many of our sister cities here in the valley. This means we have natural desertscape landscaping, we have restaurants that cater to locals with good food, great portions, all at reasonable prices.  We are the first cannabis friendly town in California and we really are in the center of an energy vortex of the sun, wind, mountains, and water.”

I have been a part of this community nearly my entire life and I count it an honor to serve as your Community Champion.
