Resident Spotlight Gabriel Franco

“I love DHS because I live here this is my home. There are a lot of wonderful people doing all kinds of things in love to serve our community daily, it’s amazing! I see it everywhere I go …”

Desert Hot Springs is a city full of diversity! I challenge you to find another city in the valley that rivals our diversity. As previously noted, our city has an abundance of benevolent hearts that not only give of their substance, but of their time as well. This week, I want to spotlight one of those people, Ms. Gabriela Franco. Gabriela can be seen throughout DHS lending her hands and heart wherever she can. From Chaplain services, to being involved in her church, to feeding the homeless and beyond, Gabriela truly represents the compassion tat resides in our community.

One of favorite ways to help my community is being available as a Chaplain. I am always ready to share the gospel and bring comfort to those in need. in addition to praying with people of our community, she aims to serve in other ways as well. She continued, “I like feeding the hungry” and supporting my local “music club” of my church (a program that teaches music theory and fundamentals to many youth).

Her service goes even further as she is one who always ensures that our local Police Department and staff are always appreciated. She added, “One of my favorite ways (of serving) is feeding our officers that deserve love andkindness as they risk their lives for us every day.”

Not only does she believe that DHS is where her faith has planted her, she believes that we all play an integral part in our city’s growth. “I believe that as we root ourselves in our city our bond grows…” In addition to being a homeowner here, she firmly believes in shopping locally and being actively involved in community service. She concluded. “Loving my city is inevitable.. just like we love our own homes where we dwell , eat , laugh , cry and pray … “
