Our Homecoming King!

Four years ago a young man beaming with intelligence stepped foot on the grounds of Desert Hot Springs High. After becoming a local celebrity for winning the Riverside County Middle School Spelling Bee, Tre Terry set his sights on greater things. To have watched him mature from the shy and unassuming freshman he was 4 years ago to the assertive and strong-willed senior he is today has been amazing to witness. From his involvement in school leadership to his resume on the dance team (and everything in between), It appears that Tre has truly encapsulated all that we desire for our students; he has seemingly experienced ALL DHS High has to offer. With that being said, “Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce to some and present to others our 2019 Homecoming (HOCO) King…TRE TERRY!”

When asked his thoughts on being crowned King he revealed, “Winning Homecoming King reminds me that I am a positive and fun influence on students at DHSHS. I feel that as an influence on campus, I should be as spirited, helpful, and kind as possible to others.” Did I mention his creative mind and his penchant for creative arts? He has been an active part of the school’s dance team and works with media in his church. His plans? “I plan to go to Grand Canyon University or CSULA and major in Film Production”, he disclosed. I firmly believe that he will be a great asset to the collegiate community as he has for our High School community.

“I love DHSHS because it is a place where people can fully express themselves and associate with an extremely friendly, unique student body. [In 10 years] I see DHS living up to the potential very few see it has.”

As we shift gears and begin to prepare for the return of some normalcy, it can’t be understated enough that for some normal may never return. For some the opportunity to take part in once-in-a-lifetime events has been taken away. With the increasing numbers of those affected…

DHS High should be celebrated! Not only because it’s a great school, but because of the innovative approaches that Principal Cota and her staff employ daily.
